Fullerene is a powerful carbon based antioxidant, and protects skin cells from free radicals.  Fullerene is also effective for acne, as it prevents against breakouts and controls the skin’s oil productions.  In addition to this, fullerene helps with skin texture, tightening pores, brightening the skin, and reducing redness.  It is a hollow, icosahedrally-shaped, closed-cage structure consisting of 60 sp² hybridized carbon atoms which can be utilized for the preparation of novel carbon nanomaterials.
